7 Things To Incorporate Into Your Guest Room

Posted by BedfordBrooks in Guest Room on Feb 6th, 2017

As hosts, we want to make our guests’ stay at our home as a pleasant as possible. With that in mind, here are seven items to incorporate into your guest room to make it feel like a five-star hotel.

Guest Room Essentials

  1. Comfy Sleeping Quarters

To make your guest room feel like a five-star hotel, focus on making the bed as comfy as possible. Adding 100% cotton sheets, a duvet and a lot of fluffy pillows will ensure that your guests feel very cozy in your home.

  2. A Dressing Area With A Mirror

Providing your guests with a vanity, whether in the form of a small table or a desk, will give them the opportunity to primp and preen in the comfort of their own room. Don’t forget to add a mirror to your guest room – a full-length one is particularly ideal. Consider also providing them with a tray to keep all of their belongings in one place.

  3. A Nightstand With Bedside Lighting

Ensure not only that guests have a nightstand to place their things on but that you also provide them with bedside lighting in order to do some evening reading. After all, sleep doesn’t come as easy in new environments. It is also a good place to add entertainment for your guests, such as a few magazines for them to flip through as they wind down at night. Don’t forget to also add a box of soft tissues.

  4. Dress The Windows

Your guests will appreciate the ability to sleep in a dark room. Consider blackout shades.

  5. A Basket Full Of The Essentials

The last thing you want your guests to do is have to ask for something! Ensure that you have bases covered by filling a basket with extra towels, a blanket in case it gets chilly and extra rolls of toilet paper. Also, adding travel-sized items that many people often forget at home, such as a toothbrush or razor, will make you look like a very thoughtful host.

  6. Don’t Forget The Hooks

Ensure that your guests have a lot of opportunities to hang their clothes and bags by adding hooks to your guest room.

  7. Personal Touches Are Key

Adding personal touches will take your guests’ experience in your home to the next level. Just like you would find in a five-star hotel, add a tray with a small teapot, mugs and packets of tea and coffee for them to enjoy at their leisure. Fresh flowers are also a very nice touch!
